Short answers about how Aethelium actually works.
A free game client for private play with friends. It's classic-style sandbox gameplay running on your own server — no accounts, no corporate moderation, no telemetry. Just you, your worlds, and your people.
Download the launcher, sign in once with Discord, hit PLAY. The launcher picks an active server for you automatically. Active servers are listed in the Discord community.
Not built-in — and that's intentional. We use the Discord voice channels alongside the game. Better quality, zero latency, no cloud dependencies.
Yes. Worlds are just files — load any place you have on your server and your friends can join. Scripting works through classic Lua. Build sandboxes, arenas, role-play maps — anything goes.
A tiny Aethelium bootstrapper (~5 MB). On first launch it downloads the game client (~150 MB) into your AppData folder and creates a desktop shortcut. No background services, no auto-start, no telemetry.
Windows SmartScreen and some antivirus may flag the installer (custom builds plus self-extracting archives are classic false-positive triggers). Run it through VirusTotal before installing if you want a second opinion.
